First Poster for Netflix’s Ted Bundy Biopic Revealed

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil, and Vile is a 2019 American biographical crime thriller film directed by Joe Berlinger and written by Michael Werwie, starring Zac Efron as serial killer Ted Bundy, as well as Lily Collins, Kaya Scodelario, and John Malkovich.

First announced in May 2017, principal photography on the film began in January 2018. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 26, 2019 and is scheduled to be released in theaters and on Netflix in late 2019. It received mixed to positive reviews from critics who praised Efron’s performance.

Netflix has snatched up the distribution rights to EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL AND VILE the sure-to-be-controversial movie from director Joe Berlinger starring Zac Efron as Ted Bundy. And today we have the poster for the film which you can check out in all of its creepy glory below. The poster is a bit ‘meh’ but I still dig it as it keeps driving home that fact that Efron just might end up being the perfect choice to portray Bundy.

EXTREMELY WICKED, SHOCKINGLY EVIL AND VILE is directed by Berlinger (BLAIR WITCH 2) from a script by Michael Werwie and stars John Malkovich, Lily Collins, Kaya Scodelario, Angela Sarafyan, Jeffrey Donovan, Jim Parsons, Metallica’s James Hetfield, and Efron as Ted Bundy.

It’s said that Netflix shelled out a cool $9 million for the rights and that their plan is to give the movie an awards season theatrical run. The film is then expected to debut on the service sometime after that. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear more concrete plans.

And remember, MPAA recently slapped the movie with an R-rating for “disturbing/violent content, some sexuality, nudity, and language.”
